Starting off with a handful of original tracks; intro Audio Check Music is signature Cornelius weirdness, the floating jazz-funk grooves of Audio Architecture and feelgood Shibuya-kei vibes of Not Bad, This Feeling are easily on the level with any of Mellow Waves best joints. The cover of Drakes Passionfruit has a real Discovery-era Daft Punk vibe to it; throw this on at your next corporate gig and drive all the basic chicks nuts. Then theres remixes of songs from Mellow Waves, with a personnel list reading like a whos who of Lab faves: Ryuichi Sakamoto AND Haruomi Hosono touch up If Youre Here and In A Dream (respectively), offering a taste of where both artists heads are at in 2018. The Beach Fossils rework of The Spell Of A Vanishing Loveliness seamlessly fuses the best of Corn-dogs original with Dustin Payseurs own vocals. Hiatus Kaiyote and Lawrence (of FELT!) also turn in leftfield re-interpretations, and there\'sa live rendition of In A Dream. With contributions from artists working in such disparate spheres, the end result is a little all over the goddamn place, so its no different from any other Cornelius record you already have.
